Work processes
FIRST STEP
Waste reception and acceptance
Control
Only companies and waste managers enter the facility. It does not accept “retail” from individuals. The way to enter the facility is controlled. Only the person who is going to deliver material is allowed access.
Inspection
Upon arrival at the entrance to the facility, the company’s administration staff asks to visually inspect the material to be delivered and the documentation proving the lawful origin of the material. Vehicles are moved to the weighing area and where the radioactivity gantry will be placed.
Acceptance and/or refusal
After visual inspection, the material is accepted or refused entry. If the material is not accepted, the supplier leaves the facilities, taking the load with him.
Registration
If the material is accepted, it is initially weighed on the scales and the weight, characteristics of the material and the supplier’s details are recorded. After this registration, it is indicated where it can be unloaded and who inspects it during unloading.
Unloading of the material - Visual inspection
Material is only unloaded in the areas set aside for this purpose. During the unloading of material, it is visually inspected by an operator of the organisation to verify that no unauthorised material is unloaded. If during the unloading process it is seen that unauthorised material is being unloaded, two procedures are followed:
- The supplier is instructed to pick it up and take it away. If the supplier refuses to take it back, the material is photographed and filed with the supplier’s documentation. This material is separated from the material to be sorted and deducted from the initial weight, as long as it is not hazardous and is not included in the unacceptable or ineligible materials.
- Unloading can be manual or, if they come by lorry, by unloading the lorry.
Administrative processing
Collection of documents accrediting delivery and conformity of delivery of the material. After unloading and acceptance of the unloading by the inspecting operator, the inspecting operator and the owner of the waste go to the office to collect delivery notes, identification documents or invoices, as well as documentation of conformity of the unloading. After collecting these documents, they leave the premises. Once all the administrative documentation of acceptance of the material has been handed over, we consider that we will definitively accept the material.
Suppliers remain at the facilities for the time necessary to unload the material and collect the documentation.
All the processes carried out are focused on allowing the recovery of waste from other companies with the sole purpose of reintegrating the discarded materials as raw materials suitable for reuse, thus reducing the consumption of energy and natural resources associated with human activities.
SECOND STEP
Treatment for your assessment
The waste is then subjected to separate treatment operations, depending on its nature.
- Storage and sorting for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, other non-metallic materials and cables.
- Storage, sorting and dismantling for hazardous and non-hazardous waste electrical and electronic equipment.
As a result of the above tasks, recoverable materials are obtained which, after initial sorting (for all accepted waste), segregated storage (for all waste), results in material ready for delivery to final managers.
